The Holy Spirit enables His people to serve Him and to be a light to the world. Just as a lamp needs a constant flow of oil to burn, continually, so do we also need the Holy Spirit to flow through us and empower our ministry.
The Bible refers to three ways that God can be present in our lives: He can be WITH us, He can come UPON us, and He can indwell us and be IN us. Only when He indwells us does He have complete control over our lives in ways that make us truly useful to Him.
