Pastor Gregg Tipton, How to be an Overcomer, Part 4
The FAITHFULNESS of an overcomer.
Daniel was faithful to his king, and as a result, he was appointed to be a satrap, which in ancient Persia, was a provential governor. Because of jealousy, he experience opposition in his work for the empire. We must ask ourselves if we can remain faithful when everyone around us is jealous of our position. Ignoring the jealousy, Daniel continued to excel and surpass the requiremets of his job.
The Bible says that Daniel had an excellent spirit--a great attitude. He never settled for good enough. He always looked for ways to make a better contribution. And in his mind, his only competition was himself, and his goal, always was to glorify his God.
Likewise, seeing that we also serve God, let us also excel so that people will see our good works and glorify our Lord, especially in our Christian service.
